Initially you will undergo a complete operational immersion (first 3 months) whereby you gain hands‑on understanding of MPL’s core activities in import, export and customs formalities. You will learn to analyze and facilitate claim files, gain actual work experience in the forwarding operations and learn to work with the internal operational systems so that you understand the end‑to‑end logistics flows that drive our business.
After this you will join our dynamic legal team at our HQ in Antwerp, where we are responsible for all legal and insurance aspects related to the entire Manuport Logistics Group (more than 40 legal entities in over 20 countries). Your function will be a supporting role in all professional aspects of our department including:
- Claims handling:
- Act as first point of contact for operational claims
- Assess liability, gather documentation, and coordinate with internal stakeholders
- Insurance Liaison:
- Assist with insurance applications, practical follow‑up on file basis, coordinate and safe-guard communication with brokers and insurance companies
- Compliance & Regulation:
- Assist with compliance checks including credit control, KYC’s, DPS and UBO’s
- Review & actively improve internal procedures related to international & local regulation
- Contractual support:
- Assist with the drafting, reviewing and following up of customer and supplier contracts, NDA’s, Agency Agreements, Tendering Agreements and other operational legal documents.
- Support the onboarding procedures and implementation of contractual obligations in the operational workflows.
- Credit Control & Disputes:
- Assist our finance and operational teams in the debt collection and dispute resolution with customers
- Statutory Support:
- Monitor and update statutory obligations such as director mandates, articles of association, statutory publications, notarial filings, business licenses and permits etc
- Drafting of resolutions, minutes of meetings, POA’s etc
- M&A Support:
- Drafting of Shareholder’s Agreements, Share Purchase Agreements and other M&A formalities
