Skills, knowledge, experience required:
- Bachelor in IT electronics and communications engineering, or 5 years’ experience in network engineering;
- Certification equivalent to CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or higher;
- Demonstrable experience in the design, deployment, administration and operation of wide area network systems.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with NATO security policy; and awareness of NATO’s military and civilian structure and activities;
- Knowledge of MPLS network technology;
- Knowledge of IP encryption devices..
Duties/role:
- Analysing, advising on, and documenting network shortfalls, identifying improvement actions, and supporting their implementation under the supervision of the BGX Network Engineer;
- Implementing and configuring dynamic routing protocols, including single‑area and multi‑area OSPF and BGP, for external interconnections on Cisco routers across WAN/LAN networks;
- Implementing DMVPN (Dynamic Multipoint VPN) Phase 3 topology based on NHRP redirects and shortcuts.
