About the job
This summer, Suspicious Antwerp opens a coffee bar in Knokke, and we're looking for someone to truly make it their own.
You don't need to be a seasoned barista. You do need to really get hospitality, know how a smooth bar runs, and be able to organize the whole thing and keep it going. Entrepreneurial, hands-on, and proud of a clean spot, a happy team and happy guests.
Not a cog in a big chain, but the person who runs the bar as if it were theirs: open up in the morning, keep everything flowing, lead the team, give guests a great coffee and an even better feeling, and close the day satisfied.
There might be more, we'll see ;)
What you'll be doing
-
Run the coffee bar day to day: opening, closing, and everything in between
-
Lead and coordinate the team of students and flexi-workers: scheduling, briefing, and keeping the standards (and the vibe) up
-
Welcome and serve guests with a smile, even when it's busy
-
Take care of the coffee and the small menu, with an eye for quality and presentation
-
Keep stock, orders and freshness on track
-
Keep the bar clean, hygienic and on point
-
Keep things organized so the bar simply runs
What you bring
-
You really understand hospitality and how a bar runs (barista experience is a plus, not a must)
-
You can organize and run a bar end to end, and keep your head when it gets busy
-
Experience leading or coordinating a small team (a plus if it was students or flexi-workers)
-
An entrepreneurial, independent mindset: you fix things without being asked twice
-
Customer-focused and always friendly, even on a busy summer day
-
Hands-on, organized and reliable
-
Ideally someone from (around) Knokke
-
Fluent in Dutch and English (both a must); French is a plus for the tourists
-
Available this summer, maybe longer
Nice to have
-
Barista or hospitality experience
-
Experience independently running a place or a shift
-
Affinity with Suspicious Antwerp and the streetwear DNA
What you're walking into
A brand that dares and moves fast, and is now stepping into the coffee world too. A lot of freedom, real responsibility, and work that's visible every day, right in front of the guest. A summer in Knokke where you can genuinely build something.
