Performs entry-level electrical maintenance and installation tasks in support of U.S. Army DPW operations under the LOGCAP V / V2X Public Works Program. Assists with installing, repairing, and maintaining facility wiring, lighting, and receptacles up to 480 volts. Works under supervision to pull wire, install conduit, and replace devices and fixtures. Follows NEC, NFPA 70E, and V2X safety procedures including Lock-Out / Tag-Out (LOTO).

Qualifications:
- Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

High school diploma or equivalent

Completion of trade school or apprenticeship/OJT

Ability to read blueprints and diagrams

Valid driver’s license

OSHA 10 (required within 90 days of hire)

NFPA 70E Qualified Worker (required within 90 days of hire)

LOTO certification (required within 90 days of hire)

Arc Flash training (required within 90 days of hire)

Skills:

Must have a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in electrical repair,
-
Be able to read/understand schematic drawings and have strong troubleshooting abilities.

Working Conditions:
-
Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 85 degrees Fahrenheit.

Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, wet, tropical, environment with average temperatures of 85 degrees in the summer months).

Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well

The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.

The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.

Physical Requirements:

Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.

Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
