As a Functional Analyst with a focus on data modeling, you play a key role in translating business needs into robust data models -. You act as the bridge between business stakeholders and the data engineering team -, ensuring that data products are logically structured, scalable, and future-proof -.
- Translate business requirements into clear features, user stories, and tasks, enabling efficient implementation by Data Engineers and BI developers
- Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models (dimensional models, factless facts, SCDs, etc.)
- Support users with questions related to self-service data models
- Independently manage the backlog, ensuring high-quality requirements and alignment with stakeholders
- Produce technical documentation (source-to-target mappings, transformation logic) and business documentation (user guides, datasets)
- Contribute to data quality, metadata management, and data governance
- Document and monitor data lineage, business rules, and definitions across multiple data sources
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years of experience as a Functional Analyst or Data Analyst
- Strong expertise in data modeling (Kimball, Inmon, etc.)
- Solid knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and DWH concepts
- Experience with Agile methodologies, backlog management, and Azure DevOps
- Ability to analyze complex processes, document them, and translate them into structured data models
- Excellent communication skills with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders
- Knowledge of BI tools and ELT processes (Tableau is a plus)
- Experience with DBT and self-service BI (semantic layer)
- Comfortable in dynamic, cross-functional environments
