Introduction
Our engineering department is the coordinating force behind many investment projects. From the earliest design stage, the department is closely involved in the concept of a new installation. Together with the users, they carefully assess all requirements, after which designers develop the concrete plans in consultation with the production departments. The engineering department is also responsible for coordinating the various worksites and closely supervises subcontractors.
What does the job entail?
Your Mission :
Guide and manage a team of Project managers to execute projects within the given portfolio in line with the department’s needs and the cluster MYP.
Accountable for the activity within the managed Portfolio of Liège
Activities :
Projects
- Local engineering face to the clients in the portfolio (e.g. Head of Department )
- Responsible to organize and distribute the work inside his portfolio with own and/or external resources
- Ensure that the project cost, quality, schedule and scope requirements are respected/fulfilled
- Ensure that the CIPM project management methodology is followed
- Represent the cluster within the PFM network – promote benchmarking and bundling by his team
- Ensure activities are executed in compliance with law, standards, safety and environmental rules
Reporting
- Inform HoE and the user’s HoD of all relevant events in his perimeter
- Accountable for the activity within the management Portfolio.
Management
- Lead the daily operation of the team and assist in problem solving where needed
- Define staffing needs – be involved in recruitment and newcomers’ initiation
Define and organize the training and development of his team members.

Are you the right candidate?
- You have a Master's degree in Engineering.
- You have at least 15 years of experience with project management in an industrial environment.
- You finished multiple project with capital investment above 10M €.
- You have a proven track record regarding all safety aspects (HAZID/HAZOP and construction).
- Your excellent communication skills (in French and English) allow you to communicate to several stakeholders and to motivate your team.
- The problem-solving capabilities you have obtained allow you to efficiently tackle problems and manage projects.
