Who are we?
Democratic Society (Demsoc) is an international non-profit organisation (AISBL) founded in 2006 and based in Brussels. We work for more and better democracy — designing and delivering participatory projects, citizen engagement processes and democratic innovations across Europe and beyond. We support governments, parliaments, cities and civil society organisations that want to involve citizens in the decisions that shape their lives. Our projects are funded by the European Union and international donors, and our team is international, passionate and committed to making democracy work for the 21st century.
At a time when democracy faces unprecedented challenges, Demsoc's mission has never been more essential, and the people who support it, from the inside, make all the difference.
