Job description – Senior .NET Developer – Power IS Feature Teams
Context and objective
As a Senior .NET Developer within a Supply & Energy Management business unit, the mission is to design, develop, and maintain critical applications supporting Power Trading desks in Brussels. These systems automate booking, pricing, risk/PnL analysis, and execution processes directly supporting front-office operations. The role is part of an agile Power Trading Feature Team working under the Scrum framework, in close collaboration with traders, analysts, and core IS teams such as DevOps, Infrastructure, and Helpdesk.
Main responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Power Trading applications, primarily focused on backend services in .NET
- Build and enhance pre-trade pricers and option exercise application
- Identify, analyse, and translate business and functional requirements into robust technical solutions
- Act as first-line technical support for internal users, onboard them to tools, and ensure seamless usage
- Implement and maintain APIs to retrieve, process, and distribute data across internal systems
- Contribute to architecture design, code reviews, and troubleshooting of complex trading application components
- Collaborate with traders and core IS teams to deliver performant, scalable, and reliable solutions
- Produce technical documentation, including specifications and architecture diagrams
- Develop and maintain automated tests, manage deployments, and ensure production stability
Work setup
- Hybrid model with a minimum of 2 days per week on-site in Brussels

Required profile
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a Software Developer or in a similar technical role
- Proven track record working in financial markets or Front Office environments
Technical skills
- Technical stack with about 90% backend development using .NET (C#)
- About 10% frontend development using Next.js, with occasional work on Angular
- Strong experience in API design, integration, and data processing
- Familiarity with Azure Cloud, Kubernetes, and Azure DevOps for hosting and deployment
Additional appreciated skills
- Experience with Python is a plus
- Understanding of options lifecycle, including moneyness, exercise decisions, and payoff, is an advantage
- Prior experience with Front Office tools (Pre-Trade or Pricing functions) in energy or financial markets is highly valued
- Knowledge of power markets, generation technologies, and their role in asset portfolio management and energy trading is a strong plus

Technical environment
The Power IS Feature Teams build and maintain mission-critical systems supporting long-term asset valuation, risk management, pre-trade pricing, and the trading life cycle. Applications are developed in-house using C#, Next.js, Angular, and Python, and are hosted in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments. The team invests continuously in innovation to strengthen market position and operational excellence.
