We are looking for an experienced Safety Coordinator to join our team at a customer site in Ghlin, with travel to our sites in Paris. You will ensure the sites operate safely, meet EHS standards, reduce risk, and support training, audits, incident reporting and emergency preparedness.
Experience in warehouse/logistic or similar operational environment is required. A clean EU driving licence is essential. B2 level Dutch and English communication is required.
Other tasks and responsibilities:
- Understand and maintain all recordkeeping requirements (corporate and legal) in accordance with ISO9001 standards
- Develop and maintain the Risk Register and Assessments per sites activities
- Develop key Safety Standard Work Instructions
- Coordinating and performing training (in all SH&E areas) to new and existing employees to ensure compliance with EHS
- Create and implement local EHS improvement programs
- Managing safety data sheets and the dangerous goods requirements on site
- Manage and coordinate the MHE program on site
- Participate in and lead emergency responses
- Coordinate local safety team/committee and address employee EHS concerns
- Manage and drive the safety cultural improvements for the location(s) in line with corporate requirements and coordinate and drive the Behavioural Based Safety Program
- Understand and prepare site safety reports, metrics & KPIs
- Perform sampling and monitoring
- Manage contractor controls on site and issue permits as required
What you need to succeed at GXO
- Experienced within a Safety role is needed, qualification in Safety - Prevention Advisor level 3 would be advantageous
- ISO9001 is preferred but not essential
- Thorough knowledge of applicable government regulations
- Previous experience of working within a strong Safety and Security culture
- Capable of managing multiple projects and tasks
- Demonstrates effective communication skills in English and French
- Has strong training and interpersonal skills
- Exhibits positivity, passion, integrity, and responsibility
- Licensed to drive a car in Europe
- Experience with Microsoft Office
