Are you a data engineer who believes a pipeline should be boring, so that everything built on top of it can be exciting?
Crunch builds the data-driven companies of tomorrow. Forecasts, pricing engines, AI agents: every one of them stands or falls on the data underneath. We are looking for the person who builds that foundation so well that nobody ever has to think about it again.
That means treating reliability, modeling, and cost-efficiency as a craft, not a chore.
As a Medior Data Engineer, you design and build the data layer our clients run their business on. Mid-market manufacturers, retailers, and supply chain companies with data scattered across ERPs, planning tools, and spreadsheets that have long overstayed their welcome. You bring it together in one clean, governed lakehouse, and you model it so both a planner and an AI agent can make sense of it. You own your slice of the platform end to end, and you're the person a junior taps on the shoulder when they're stuck.
In your role, you combine an engineer's rigor with a consultant's curiosity: you want to know why the business needs this table before you build it.
What will be part of your responsibilities?
-
Design and build data platforms on Azure and Databricks, from architecture to go-live;
-
Build clean, tested ELT pipelines with dbt, SQL, and Python;
-
Integrate the systems where the real data lives: ERPs, WMS, planning and forecasting tools, e-commerce platforms;
-
Design data models that serve dashboards, data science, and conversational AI alike;
-
Keep platforms reliable, monitored, and cost-efficient. Cloud bills are part of the design, not a surprise;
-
Coach our junior engineers through pairing and code review that actually teaches;
-
Work side by side with our data scientists, BI developers, and AI engineers so the full chain delivers;
-
Advise clients on architecture choices, and push back when the easy option is the wrong one.
