Our client, a major public-sector IT organization, is looking for three Senior Technical Project Leaders to autonomously manage large-scale technical IT projects.
Each Project Leader will primarily support one of the following technical streams:
- Legacy systems, API gateways and Java application lifecycle
- Cybersecurity, NIS2 compliance and Google Cloud initiatives
- IAM, secret management, Vault and infrastructure services
The mission is full-time, based in Brussels, with a hybrid working model requiring at least two days per week onsite.
As a Senior Technical Project Leader, you will manage the complete lifecycle of complex IT infrastructure and application projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Defining project structures, implementation scenarios, timelines, budgets and delivery approaches
- Preparing and maintaining detailed project plans
- Monitoring scope, quality, deadlines, risks, dependencies and budget
- Reporting project progress, issues and decisions to internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinating technical teams, architects, engineers, suppliers and business stakeholders
- Facilitating communication between all parties involved in the project
- Establishing priorities and ensuring operational follow-up
- Supporting and coaching project contributors
- Applying structured project management methodologies and best practices
- Maintaining project documentation through Jira and Confluence
- Ensuring alignment with ITIL, Prince2 and Agile practices
Depending on your expertise, you will manage projects related to one of the following areas:
Stream 1 – Legacy, APIs and Java
- Containerization of Axway API Gateway and Adabas databases
- Technological modernization of legacy systems
- Application versioning and lifecycle management for Java environments
- SOAP and REST API environments
- Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift platforms
Stream 2 – Cybersecurity and Google Cloud
- Cybersecurity implementation projects
- NIS2 and compliance-related infrastructure initiatives
- Security frameworks, gap analyses and security best practices
- Google Cloud implementation projects
- Support to Cybersecurity, NIS2 and Cloud Program Managers
Stream 3 – IAM and Infrastructure Services
- Implementation of IAM and secret management services
- Deployment of Vault solutions
- Infrastructure and security service implementation
- Coordination of additional infrastructure projects
You have the following skills
- Extensive experience managing large-scale technical IT projects
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, cloud and security environments
- Prince2 expertise
- Agile project management experience
- ITIL knowledge
- Advanced Jira and Confluence skills
- Strong planning, budgeting, reporting and risk-management capabilities
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary technical teams
- Excellent stakeholder-management and negotiation skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Methodical, organized and able to manage multiple priorities
Depending on the assigned stream, relevant expertise should include several of the following:
- Axway API Gateway
- Adabas
- Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate and Maven
- SOAP and REST APIs
- Legacy-system modernization
- Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift
- VMware and virtualization
- Google Cloud or other public-cloud environments

A university degree or equivalent experience is required.
Professional working proficiency in Dutch, French and English is required.
Previous experience within social security, healthcare, public services or another large-scale regulated environment is a strong advantage.
The CV must include a concise summary of the principles and best practices used to ensure the successful delivery of technical projects.
- You have at least 7 years of professional experiences in IT
