You will be concentrating on the various elements that make up the maintenance of the data platform such as storage and capacity planning, backups and monitoring, security settings and enhancements, database upgrades and migrations, database tuning and database optimisations, etc. (Azure) SQL Server databases encompass a wide range of responsibilities!
Being on-call or intervening outside office hours is only required occasionally. Project-based or long-term assignments, all options are on the table. Depending on the assignment, you may be working on your own or in a team, taking care of the project management yourself or not. Participating in pre-sales is also a possibility.
