As a Java Software Engineer at Capgemini, you design, build and evolve scalable, high-quality software solutions that support our clients’ most critical business processes, working closely with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into robust, maintainable and future-proof applications. You operate in modern engineering environments at the intersection of cloud, microservices and AI-enabled development practices, contributing across the full software lifecycle while ensuring solutions are secure, reliable and aligned with enterprise standards.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining scalable software solutions aligned with functional and non-functional requirements
- Ensuring high-quality deliverables through testing, code reviews and engineering best practices
- Contributing to solution design and provide technical input on architecture and implementation choices
- Leveraging modern tooling and AI-assisted development practices to improve productivity and quality
- Mentoring junior developers and contributing to engineering standards
- You have strong experience designing and building scalable, maintainable solutions in distributed and cloud-native environments
- You are familiar with modern software architecture such as microservices and event-driven systems, and principles like DDD or CQRS
- You have experience with CI/CD and knowledge of containerization and DevOps practices (Docker, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code)
- You have experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or Google Cloud) and front-end frameworks, such as React, Angular or Vue.
- You have a professional working proficiency in Dutch and English
